Focused Insights SP09 news, Geo mapping
With the recent release of SP09 for Solution Manager ST-OST addon (Focused Build & Focused Insights), SAP also added a familiar tool from other monitoring/dashboard building software. The possibility to present metrics on a map.
It is a new renderer for the Operations Control Center (OCC) dashboards. Renderer name is GEO_MAP.
You can use any of the queries in the dashboard gadget to get the needed KPI values. There are new fields under properties for location, that will then provide the necessary info for the map renderer. It has a basic location search for countries, but you can insert your own accurate Longitude/Latitude coordinates, easily obtained for example from Google Maps.
Multiple KPIs can also be grouped to one location thru the hidden grouping feature in Insights. If you enter a “/” into a query name, this will create grouping for the queries. Adding the same name to multiple queries will group these KPIs together into one location.
Other improvements with this SP were smaller this time.
SAP improved the GDPR data collection.
Data Provider for IT Service Management (DP_ITSM) was reworked for better performance and data accuracy.
A change already implemented with the last SP, Insights does not use Waves anymore for the corrections. Instead SAP has gone back to a more traditional way of providing corrections – with SAP notes. The last Wave is 9.0. Check out the Central Note 2392728 for the latest corrections. These notes can also be accessed directly from the System Recommendations app on Solution Manager, via the direct link on the bottom right corner.
