A recap of the SAP ALM Roadshow in Helsinki
In the beginning of April, the first on-site SAP ALM Roadshow Event for over two years, took place in Helsinki, Finland. Hosted by SAP Finland and SAP FINUG (Finnish SAP User Group) together with blueworks and Qalmari. Like our friends form Qalmari said, enough of “can you hear me” and “can you see my screen”, time for a real in-person event.
Like the name suggests, the whole day was all about Application Lifecycle Management. The first half of the day was for SAP news and updates. A special quest from SAP, Mr. Tim Steuer showed what news SAP has regarding ALM and what’s to come. A big focus is on SAP Cloud ALM, the newest ALM Tool, including both Implementations and Operations for cloud centric customers. Enabling them to run projects and monitor their systems with a special tool. Cloud ALM also supports on-prem ABAP systems, so also customers with a classical SAP landscape should not disregard it! Thank you Tim for the great presentations and news.
After lunch, it was time for customer cases and demos presented by blueworks and Qalmari.
First off, Kenneth presented how SAP Focused Build and Business Transformation Suite can help to run a Central Finance project with our customer Fenaco. Thank you also for Thomas Aeschlimann for joining in for the session and giving real-time customer feedback.
Next, Ari from Qalmari presented the benefits of Signavio process tool and Focused Build in a S/4HANA transformation project.
Petra from Qalmari and Marko showed how Tricentis can help you with test automation.
Riccardo, the grand-old-man of ChaRM, gave a short but very deep overview how to manage changes in complex SAP landscapes with Dual System Maintenance.
The day was finished by Kenneth and Juuljus, with the SAP Cloud ALM for Operations demo, showing all the possibilities the monitoring tools provide, not only for Cloud but also for on-prem ABAP systems.
The day started and ended with SAP Cloud ALM, giving a nice frame for the whole event and showing the significants of this new tool.
After the presentations, it was time for networking and enjoy the company. A part of it was also the monthly SAP ALM Expert Community Call that happened to be scheduled to the same day. As always, Tim has a big part in these calls and we joined in there. This is also probably the first time a SAP ALM Community Call has had a live audience.
