Digital Business Developer EFZ – A new apprenticeship for future ALM professionals
blue.works is teaming up with ICT-Berufsbildung Schweiz to promote and help shape the future profession of digital business developer EFZ.
From August 2023, a new federal certificate of proficiency will join the ranks of existing ICT professions: digital business developer EFZ.
The project is currently in the consultation phase. The qualification profile and the competencies have been drawn up and will next be submitted to the Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) for approval.
This new basic training occupation is not only further proof that Swiss vocational training is in tune with the market, but is also an excellent opportunity for young professionals to realize their potential in a previously overlooked area of IT. Close cooperation between IT and business is becoming increasingly important and is also the central idea behind active application lifecycle management.
blue.works supports the project as a sponsor and in promoting the profession, as well as providing impetus on the Sounding Board. The creation of an apprenticeship position is currently being examined.
“We are delighted that this important part of IT can soon be offered as an apprenticeship and that we are supporting ICT vocational training in this exciting project and thus helping to counteract the shortage of skilled workers in our industry,” says Kenneth Staub, Partner at blue.works.
ICT-Berufsbildung Schweiz is the national organization of the world of work (OdA) for the rapidly growing professional field of information and communication technology (ICT) and a driving force for the topic of ICT skills in vocational training.
“The needs that have been confirmed since the occupational field analysis (April-May 2021) regarding the skills included in this new basic education occupation show us how important the joint development of this new occupational profile is for the economy in Switzerland. We are therefore delighted that blue.works is supporting us in publicizing it. The support of companies is important, as it sends out important signals to other companies as well as interested parties (future skilled workers). Many thanks to blue.works for this”, Matthias Bauhofer, Head of Vocational Education and Training at ICT-Berufsbildung Schweiz.
