Getting started with SNOW

Last fall CONCORN presented the SNOW adapter at SolEd, which connects the SAP landscape with the IT service management products of ServiceNow. For ease of use, SNOW is also preconfigured with Best Practices for Change and Request Management (CHARM) at the interface between ServiceNow and SAP, which we have already reported in this post.

Last week we finally took part in the SNOW workshop for the selected partners, which was organized by SAP and CONCORN. Due to the Corona crisis, all participants had to attend via video. During this 3 day workshop all basics for the installation and configuration of the brand new SNOW adapter were shown.

In summary, we can say that the workshop was extremely well designed in terms of content and that knowledge is absolutely necessary to implement the solution successfully! However, one must also mention one disadvantage: Due to the video-based training it is a fact that you cannot drink beer. Nevertheless, a big thank you to SAP and CONCORN for all their efforts and the removal of the obstacles that video training brings.

One of the big advantages of the SNOW Adapter is the bi-directional integration of all change requests created in ServiceNow and seamless deliver them into Solution Manager. As soon as you change the status of the request in SolMan it is automatically updated in ServiceNow and vice versa.

We are proud to be the official partner for the SNOW adapter in Switzerland and Estonia. Together with our new partner b-rightsource we can cover all the aspects of coupling the world of ServiceNow and Solution Manager.
