SAP ALM Summit EMEA 2022: The SAP ALM Highlight of the Year
The largest gathering of the SAP Application Lifecycle Management community took place this year in October in Mannheim, Germany. Over four days, we were able to have presentations and discussions about ALM that will shape future ALM strategy.
One of the highlights was the open discussions with SAP experts and partners and the exchange of ideas about how the solution could look in the future. The active co-design of SAP Cloud ALM is a real added value for us and our customers. Meet the SAP Cloud ALM Product Owners in person, getting answers to current open questions and maintaining and deepening our relationships is of course great. In addition, the announcement of the Business Transformation Center for optimizing data migrations was very exciting and we will continue to follow this topic.
The sessions of “The power of LEGO® bricks”, the lessons learned from Philips Domestic Appliances (both Koen van Sabben) and Phytobiotics (Jacob Riebensahm) and the great guest presentation “Make your users curious about transformation to a digital world” by Timo Deiner also contributed to a great mix.
blue.works was represented on stage several times. On the second day, Carla Lingg & Thomas Aeschlimann from the fenaco cooperative spoke in detail about the Business Transformation Suite of SAP Solution Manager, Focused Build and SAP Cloud ALM and how the collaboration with blue.works helped them. This was not just about the tools, but much more about the right ALM mindset.
Another big highlight was blue.works participation in the ALM Partner Challenge Hackaton. This year’s ALM-athon challenge was “How can partner solutions or 3rd party integrations add value for customers by extending SAP Cloud ALM with standard APIs?”. We worked on this question over the last months with our good partners Qalmari and CPRO and presented our idea live on stage. In fact, our idea was voted the winner by the audience! We are very proud of that!
On behalf of our team and partners – thank you to everyone who voted for our idea! We started even marketing it as a product alm360.cloud/hub.
As an active member of the SAP community, blue.works was particularly represented at the Summit this year. By sponsoring the evening get-together at the Gin Bar, we wanted to make our contribution to the success of the event and thank the community. We were delighted that so many people came together to network and relax after an intense day full of new information.
One of the key takeaways from this year’s SAP ALM Summit was, that the transition to SAP Cloud ALM brings many new benefits and that blue.works is just the right partner to help on this journey.
It was very nice to refresh SAP contacts and make new ones. During the four days we could feel the inspiration and hunger for new knowledge in the Summit premises. We could have great discussions during the breaks, sessions and perceive a vibrant community that is positively focused on the future challenges.
